Alepu Beach

Also known as the Drivers' Beach, it lies about 7 km south of Sozopol, just past Dyuni. It borders the Alepu protected area and lagoon — a wetland rich in birdlife, separated from the sea by beautiful sand dunes. A quiet spot for nature lovers.

Butamyata Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches near Sinemorets, set in a sheltered bay with fine sand and clean water. It lies within the Strandzha Nature Park, which keeps the surroundings largely untouched.

Delfin Beach

A small, quiet beach near Tsarevo, popular with visitors looking to get away from the crowds. Please note that part of the beach is traditionally used by naturists.

Lipite Beach

A wild, secluded beach in the Tsarevo area, reached by a dirt track. There are no facilities, which is exactly what draws people who want quiet and clean water.

Boyana Church

A UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its remarkable medieval frescoes from 1259. It stands in the Boyana district at the foot of Vitosha and is one of the few churches with wall paintings from the period preserved in such good condition.

The Old Town and the Church of the Dormition

The Old Town and the Church of the Dormition

The rocky Kastro headland in the old town of Tsarevo is home to the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God — a listed monument built in 1831 on the site of an older temple. The narrow streets around it offer some of the finest sea views in town.

The Lighthouse Sculpture of Tsarevo

A 5.5-metre bronze figure of a Thracian goddess, raised on the breakwater of Tsarevo harbour. It stands for the town's hospitality and for the safe arrival of those coming from the sea. The work is inspired by the caryatids of the Thracian tomb near Sveshtari (3rd century BC).

St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

The most recognisable symbol of Bulgaria and one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the Balkans, with its imposing gilded domes. It stands in central Sofia and is an essential stop for every visitor to the capital.

The Church of St Sofia

One of the oldest churches in the capital, dating back to the 4th century, and the building that gave Sofia its name. Beneath it lies an archaeological museum with early Christian tombs and mosaics.

Boyana Waterfall

The highest waterfall on the slopes of Vitosha, easily reached by a short walk from the Boyana district. A pleasant, cooling spot for a stroll in nature, only about twenty minutes from central Sofia.

Vitosha and the Golden Bridges

The mountain above Sofia offers hiking trails, the Aleko ski area with 20 km of pistes in winter, and easy walks in nature in summer. The Golden Bridges stone river is one of its most distinctive natural features.

Varna, Bulgaria

Pobiti Kamani (The Stone Forest)

Just 20 km from Varna, the natural phenomenon of Pobiti Kamani is the only desert of its kind in Bulgaria and one of very few in Europe. It is a striking group of hollow stone columns up to 7 metres tall, appearing to be driven into the sand. Scientists still debate their origin — from coral reefs to a petrified forest 50 million years old. The site is considered a strong energy zone, and its best-known cluster is called the Central Group.

Strandzha Nature Park

The largest protected nature park in Bulgaria, bordering the Tsarevo municipality directly. Dense relict forests, rivers, dozens of marked hiking trails and the living tradition of fire dancing make Strandzha a must for visitors to the region.
